Feelin' Tha Luv ?

(Feelin' Tha Luv ?)

There was a time shortly after Trump left the White House in 2021, in something of a tantrum. He missed the Inauguration of President Biden and broke with his Vice President, Mike Pense who certified the 2020 Election for Joe Biden. In the succeeding months, and after Trump re-declared his candidacy, again, almost immediately the "Lawfare" campaign, including charges and indictments and the former President was even found guilty in New York.

No one had any expectation that Trump would have no success. He was trailing President Biden in the polls and the conventional wisdom held that Trump would have votes to become the GOP Nominee again but would probably lose to President Biden. Too many voters had abandoned him in 2020 and any recovery for the former President was thought to be problematic to say the least. For a time, Trump insisted that 2020 was stolen and he was then charged with trying to overturn the 2020 result. The result that delivered President Biden.

Now, in a remarkable reversal of fortune, President Biden might be out by the end of the week. Where once Trump could not defeat Biden, so now, Biden cannot defeat Trump. There is no path forward in the Electoral College for Biden. So, like rats abandoning the Biden Campaign like the Titanic, everybody from former President Obama to Democrat leaders in the House and the Senate, as well as other Party elders, are encouraging President Biden to see the "writing on the wall" and step aside. As Biden now has a mild case of covid, he could withdraw on his own accord for "health" reasons.

The logistics of such a maneuver will be daunting. Will Biden have to move out of the White House ? Will Vice President Harris vacate the Naval Observatory and become the President, the first black female President ? Or, if she is also cast aside, and Democrats recruit the likes of Michigan's Governor Whitmer or someone similar, that would cast aside both parts of the Democrat Ticket.

Then there is the "united" GOP gathering in Milwaukee. President Trump will accept his own Nomination this evening with a speech that has been significantly altered, stemming from the events from last Saturday. The Vice President nominee, Senator J.D. Vance accepted his own nomination last night. As a whole, the Convention seems enthusiastic with the Trump/Vance ticket. It is interesting to note how fast the "Trump/Vance" signs went up.

But Trump is not President, yet. However, how much longer will Biden be in bank ? And what will it cost to get out ?
