Within hours, Vice President Harris will be picking her own running mate. Within hours, Iran could strike Israel. Within hours, Wall Street markets will close and at the moment there is a sell-off not seen for months. So, this fifth day of August 2024, news is being made but today, there is an interconnection that is tying all events together, The Harris VP pick will influence what happens in the Near East and the results will invariably affect the Markets, up or down.


When it is all said and done, Jell-o will have less of a mold than Vice President Harris. With allies in the media, Kamala Harris will be molded like a piece of clay so that the end product and who her running mate might be will determine who she is and if the makeover took. If she is standing by her "reformed" positions, if she faces Trump in the debate, will the President take her to task ? Harris has enough flip-flops for a trip to the beach. In any event, the situation abroad could overwhelm the forming ticket and, for what it's worth. "President" Biden is meeting with his National Security team.


Since the conflict began last October, the Biden Administration has gone out of its way to bring tensions to an end. The pleas for a ceasefire at Israel's expense, the explosion of anti-Sematic rhetoric and demonstrations across college campuses. Fortunately, the Jewish State had the sense to ignore Biden's advice, on its own initiative has launched strikes against Hezbollah and has even decimated Houthi assets in Yemen. Now, in the aftermath of the dual assassinations of Hezbollah and Hamas leaders, and now waiting for Tehran to act.


Naturally sensitive to these events, Wall Street is having a bad day. However, in another case of "Asian Contagion," the Nikki Average in Tokyo lost some 12% of its value, almost eight hundred billion in value. That spread here and the Dow is down over 2%, NASDAQ down 3% and the S&P is down almost 3% itself. The basic issue is the fears of an imminent recession. Getting back to the Biden-Harris-(?) Ticket, the economic issue, now getting more pronounced.

One countdown completed. The question remains on how this new team will address the contemporary issues. It might be interesting to note today is the 79th Anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima. The world is a powder keg and it is appropriate that the year of the atomic bombing be remembered.


Like for Vice President Harris after she was named Democrat Nominee, there might be a renewed honeymoon. But the Ticket is already being called the most left-wing in history. Time will tell.

(Siege Of The Alamo) Any visitor to Downtown San Antonio will recognize the City's most famous landmark, the Alamo. An old Spanish mission that means "Cottonwood" in English was the site where the likes of Jim Bowie, William Barrett Travis and Davy Crockett and about another 185 Texians defended the Mission and its compound for thirteen days against the Army of General Antonio Lopez de Santa Ana and his 5,000 troops.
