By now, one has seen the Olympic boxing event where an Algerian fighter all but TKO'd his Italian opponent. One should celebrate any Olympic victory in any event, however, the fight was rigged. Technically, the Algerian was a guy. It is unknown whether there was any "equipment check" before the event started but the Italian threw in the towel after about 47 seconds. A heart-breaking conclusion for an athlete to reach the pinnacle of her athletic career, qualified to go to Paris, and to face a man in the ring with predictable results.

The moral of the story is men should not be in women's sports. But one can understand the logic. That Algerian fighter will advance in the standings and perhaps get a medal. He would be a national hero of Algeria. So what if he was male ? He won. However, one would think that an institution as "prestigious" as the Olympics Games would be mindful of the basic fairness of the contests, that men would compete only against men and women only against women. That qualifications and events would be based on gender from birth. The question if someone was born with "equipment," or not. The IOC should assign on that basis.

It would seem that the Committee is more concerned about political correctness and an embrace of DEI principles. It is politically correct to place the male Algerian with the female Italian, knowing full well the possible consequences. There was one other technical male from China that also made an appearance.

Despite claims to the contrary, the Vice President is a DEI hire. Like a Mark of Cain, Kamala Harris, while she might be raising money and ahead in some swing states, over taking Trump, she still is that hardened California liberal whose bloom on her rose will fade. A remarkable process is underway, If Harris is able to assume the White House, she will have done so without gaining a single vote.

In economic news, a mere 114,000 jobs were created last month. As a result, Wall Street is taking a bath, all major Indices off by several percentages points. Another factor could be the expectation that a possible Harris Administration, with its tax hikes and more regulations, an end to American energy and the automobile industry, a continued series of wars and un-fettered illegal migration. Considering the current appeal, are these the desired outcomes of the American electorate ?

If people still want an alternative to the Biden/Harris Administration, there remains Trump. His positions have been made clear. However, like 2020, 2024 is not an issue election. The whole point was to replace Biden and now he has departed, the focus can return to beat Trump. What would be Vice President Harris' edge ?
