Strange Bedfellows ?

(Strange Bedfellows ?)

Nikitta Khruschev was General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union from 1953 to 1964. He had survived the power struggle in the wake of the death of Josef Stalin to emerge as the leading Candidate for Party Chair. Khruschev was perhaps more ideological than his predecessors or successors. He believed in the System. He had five children but one son, Sergei, turned out to be a black sheep. When the Soviet Union fell in 1991, Sergei emigrated to the United States and became a naturalized American citizen. He taught engineering at Brown or Princton. Therefore, the life of Sergei Khruschev was in many ways a repudiation of the Communist system and a rejection of his father's way of thinking.

Or. Vice President Harris way of thinking. Since the end of the Democrat Convention, where Harris promised tax hikes and price controls, wholly Marxist ideas, she and the General Secretary would probably get along just fine. That would also be true of the likes of Senators Sanders and Warren, declared socialists in their own right, Also, for the broader Democrat Party.

The recent Democrat behavior has been consistent with totalitarian tendencies. Harris was emplaced like it was a vote from a Central Committee and not from any popular consensus. Censorship has been promoted and free expression discouraged. This exactly the behavior one would expect in Moscow or Leningrad (St. Petersburg now) or Chicago or New York. The organizing principle for both Parties, Communist or Democratic, the acquisition and maintenance of power.

Donald Trump is the current impediment to that goal. And one can say that not all Democrats are enthusiastic about the Party's direction, among these is Robert F. Kennedy Jr. He had begun his own campaign for President. first as a Democrat and then as an Independent. The larger Democratic Party. would not give any support and Kennedy was also frustrated that he could not get traction for his own efforts. So, with that being the case, Kennedy Jr, suspended his campaign, and endorsed Donald Trump.

That is like Sergei moving to America and leaving "Russia," and his father's legacy, behind. In a sense, Robert Kennedy Jr. has defected, not just to the enemy but to former President Trump. Now, Kennedy and Trump do not agree on everything save for the fact that the Democrat Party is not the one of his father or his uncle (Rest in Peace).
