Telling Stories. . .

(Telling Stories. . .)

Stories are how a society constructs its narrative. There are short stories, whole volumes in books and so on. And there are true stories and false stories but what happens when an ostensibly true story is labeled "false ?" For example, news stories such the covid virus and the Hunter Biden laptop, while technically "true," proved politically in-convenient for the Joe Biden Presidential Campaign. Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerburg recently admitted that he and his Platform had been pressured in 2021 to only repeat the Administration's guidelines when it came to the pandemic. As one will recall, those standards were all wrong. Vaccines, social distance, and masks and even the virus origin so on were all wrong.

Then there is the computer from Hunter Biden that could have proved problematic for his father, the President of the United States. In 2020, it could have proved the "October Surprise" for that year so when the story broke by the New York POST, Democrat operatives found some fifty "cooperative" former intelligence officials that said the laptop was a Russian plant. In retrospect, had there been a broader dissemination of these "stories," Donald Trump could have been re-elected and Vice President Pense could have been made the heir apparent.

Zuckerburg might have found religion but almost four years too late. He and "Meta" were responding to a request from the state to edit the covid response on his platform and do what he could in the defense of the Biden election effort. However, Zuckerburg not been so accommodating, he could have ended up like the CEO from Telegram, who is facing possible jail time in France because he was apparently not mindful of Paris' requirements.

Anyhow, what "story" did Vice President Harris tell in the CNN interview last night ? From most accounts, it was not the conversation she needed to have. As mentioned, Governor Walz was with her. If one were confused about Harris going into the Bash meeting, the Vice President did nothing to clarify the picture. Harris could not really answer the "Day One" question, not having any precise formula. She said she had changed her mind on fracking, stating that "as President," she would not ban the process. And, for his part, Tim Walz failed to clarify his combat, or a lack thereof, experience when he states he has "handled" weapons, citing problems with grammar. It was also unclear if President Biden endorsed his Vice President before he was sent into exile. And, Harris did say that she would appoint some Republican to her Cabinet. Like Liz Cheney or Adam Kintzinger.

The CNN interview was Round One, It is like that game show, the 1% Solution emceed by Patton Oswalt, and this was the 90% answer. When it finally comes to the debate with Trump next month, that will be the "One Percent" question one sees at the end of the broadcast.
