You're Fired !

(You're Fired !)

Firstly, congratulations to the U.S. Olympic Team and their triumphant return from Paris.

As one knows, Donald Trump has had a storied career. From real estate developer in New York and other properties, to reality TV host and finally as President of the United States, and perhaps a return to Office. However, it will be his time on NBC as host of The Apprentice for almost fifteen seasons. Anyone familiar with the show that Trump and some of his executives confront a series of contestants, from Geraldo Rivera to Bret Michels, giving each a series of tasks and, at the end, the finalists get "hired." For all the others, it was a curt "you're fired" that eliminated each contestant.

However, in the case of President Biden, who was "fired" all the same, but it was former Speaker Nancy Pelosi who held the axe. It was she that gave the President the choice of leave voluntarily or be forced out by invoking the 25th Amendment. So, like a loyal subject, Biden stepped aside. Enter Vice President Harris and at least for the moment is prospering. Elevated polls and all the rest. That being said, another poll was released that showed former President Trump already with a 270+ vote majority in the Electoral Collage. But Democrats are maintaining an edge in various Senate races.

Only weeks ago, Donald Trump had the race to lose. That was when President Biden was still the Nominee. Democrat prospects were dim. But with the advent of Kamala Harris and her further introduction at the Democrat Convention in Chicago, As usual, Presidential Candidates get poll bounces in the immediate aftermath, so Harris could benefit.

The Democrat rule change has caught the Trump Campaign off guard and the former President has yet to effectively answer the new Nominee. He had been at rallies and can boast crowd size but it is increasingly clear that Trump has yet to best Harris. The first debate will air early next month and that will be the opportunity to show Harris' true colors.

In any event, Biden had to go and he was fired like he failed on The Apprentice. Like any other executive whose division was under-performing or causing a cash strain, it would be up to the board to either retain or dismiss the individual. Of course, a compensation package could be arranged, a "Golden Parachute" if you will. In Biden's case, he could technically "remain" as President while Harris gets out on the Trail.

The open question is that with Biden's removal, are the down ballot races more secure ? The Senate has already been mentioned and whatever coattails Trump might have had will probably be significantly diminished. If the Vice President can continue to moderate, if she can abandon the fringe, she could look almost reasonable. Is that how she will want to look next to Donald Trump ? If both are reasonable, why not just vote for the original ?
