Donald Trump was found guilty on 34 counts of whatever it was. On the other hand, President son Hunter Biden just pleaded guilty to a nine-count indictment. There was a time when Hunter Biden had been the poster child of Biden family corruption and malfeasance, His ties to China, Ukraine, Moscow, Kazakhstan, Romania and so on and in no small part was to have been the mechanism with which President Biden could be impeached by House Republicans. Having Junior describe "high crimes and mis-demeanors," and perhaps remove Biden from Office.


President Biden was removed from Office, but it was by other Democrats. With Biden not now running for re-election, efforts to protect Hunter have become un-necessary. The "sweet heart" plea deal," the one that had been rejected by the judge, Hunter has already been found guilty on the gun charges but had been resisting the tax, and the more serious. As those proceedings would have taken place about this time and could have influenced the election. Moot point. Biden is out. So, Hunter capitulates and lets the chip fall where they may. Hunter could serve as many as 17 years. He could be pardoned or have the sentence commuted but that being said, President Biden has stated that he would do none of the above.


The other one who could have a "ride to Rikers," would be Donald Trump. Far from pleading guilty like Hunter Biden, Trump has consistently maintained that he nothing wrong, and he has been right. The Judge Juan Mershon had scheduled Trump's own sentencing for September 18th. Now, however, the judgement has been moved till after the Election. So, attempts to bankrupt Trump have failed. The lawfare being waged against the former President have largely dissipated. Now, Trump will not even be sentenced to prison till after November 5th.


With the assurance that Trump will not be sentenced till November 26th, that removes the last obstacle Democrats have offered over the last few years. In signs of desperation, the so-called Russia hoax is being revived. Like it had been believed last time. For her part, Harris still maintains slight leads in several states but all that needs to be verified.


Hunter Biden had become the "Leopold" in this Campaign and Trump has become the Last Man Standing. Who would have guessed this outcome even a few months ago ?
