On a day when former President Trump promised to blow Iran to "smithereens" if there is another attempt on his, or anyone's life. It is campaign interference. The end result of Vice President Harris' economic plan is government and a transfer of wealth. China is adding stimulus to its economy, but the most significant event is the indictment of New York Mayor. Eric Adams.

New York City has always had power brokers that were outside City Hall or Gracie Mansion. Aside from Organized Crime, another source was the brokers from Tammany Hall. While the organization was founded in the Eighteenth Century, in more contemporary times, the Hall was the determining factor in New York Democrat politics. It was also corrupt. Like the mafia, Tammany had "friends." It promoted its own no show and no bid contracts. Technically, Tammany Hall "closed" in 1967, because the Democrat Party expressed a desire to move away from the "bosses" as provided by Tammany and move into a more "primary" system for selecting a Presidential candidate.

In any event, Mayor Adams is under federal indictment, five specific charges among them  later. Adams is the first Big Apple Mayor to be charged while still in office. Considering the history of graft that a Mayor would be charged only now is somewhat surprising. But New York along with Chicago and cities on the lefty coast, with generations of Democrat rule, coupled with the migrant surge that has been putting stains on all major cities, taxing resources and services. This is being done with the backdrop of New York losing its revenue base as residents have been re-locating.

New York is a Sanctuary City where New York is almost required by statute to absorb migrants, illegal and otherwise, into the system. That means schools. That means transit, That means access to healthcare. And, most significantly, it means housing. Virtually every hotel in Manhattan, once great palaces of grandeur, have been converted into half-way houses that can belong on skid row.

For his part. Adams says he is going nowhere. These corruption charges are habitually difficult to prove in the first place. Trump's New York is being examined on appeal and there are indications that half a billion judgment could be reduced or eliminated. As for Adams, if he is forced out of Office, he will be replaced by the City Advocate, who is an anti-business socialist.

At its worst time, the Big Apple will be without stable leadership for another year. In that time, more commerce and population could also leave. If this is an open wound, however, it is the citizens of New York who had opened it.
