Terminal Phases. . .

(Terminal Phases. . .)

It has almost been eleven months since the Hamas attack on southern Israel on October 7th of last year.  Hostages were seized during the raid and have been held in Gaza ever since. Sadly, six of the captives were executed in the last few days, among them, American Hersh Goldberg-Polin. These killings, carried out in the tunnels of Rafah, could be an indication that the war could finally be coming to an end, A desperate enemy, like Hamas, took this action before any rescue could be attempted.

Both President Biden and Vice President Harris expressed the required outrage over the executions, but it had been their policy from the start that to slow walk any support for the Jewish State. Escalation into a broader, regional, conflict. That being said, had Israel been given maximum support, had the IDF the benefit of American power, the campaign could have been abbreviated and hostages like Golberg-Polin could have been recovered in time.

For political reasons, such support was not forthcoming primarily because the Muslim vote in Michigan. An American has been killed and it was allowed to happen by crass political calculation. Questions to be asked. Questions that Donald Trump can ask Kamala Harris on the Tenth. Like the Israel-Hamas War, the Presidential Election is also approaching a "terminal phase." How Harris and even President Biden in his diminished capacity respond to these events will be telling.

The Middle/Near East is an un-forced error of the Biden Administration. Because the President and Vice President tried to play both sides between Israel and Hamas, there was no defined mission, there was no preferred determined outcome. Israel is an Ally; Hamas is a terrorist organization. Black and White distinctions.

In the final days of the Second World War, in Concentration Camps, SS Guards executed a number of prisoners, namely those who had been disabled. The rest they put on a forced march. There were fatalities from that as well. Then came October 7th and an atrocity the worst since the Holocaust. Some fifteen hundred might be a lot better than six million but the point is that October 7th didn't need to happen but because it did and the struggle persisted, with minimal American involvement except to offer cease fires.

How will the Vice President explain that ?
