Victim Blaming. . .

(Victim Blaming. . .)

How many times in some cop drama or otherwise legal procedural where a very powerful man goes too far with a woman but when she attempts to press charges, the man's lawyers destroy her credibility on cross examination and charges get dropped. The same thing has been happening in Israel since October 7th of last year. The same thing has been happening to Donald Trump since the last attempt in his life. Like the hapless date, like Israel, like Donald Trump, there has been the tendency to blame the victim.

When Hamas attacked that Israeli music festival last October, killing some 1,200 civilians many in brutal fashion and captured several hundred hostages, including Americans, it had been the equivalent of a Pearl Harbor, and Jerusalem was caught un-aware. So was the Mossad, the Israeli intelligence agency. As the war progressed south through Gaza, decimating Hamas as the campaign went forward, the pro-Palestinian and anti-Sematic protests. Israel was getting the blame for defending itself.

That being said, the Mossad has been active since that first attack and has exhibited the most remarkable tradecraft. The Mossad executed a Hamas leader, in Tehran. The Hezbollah leader was killed in Beirut, Then, in the last 48 hours or so, the Mossad has been able to cause the pagers of Hezbollah fighters to explode. Today it apparently is walkie-talkies and radios. About twenty fighters have been killed and a considerable number more were wounded. So, what is average terror group to do when it communications have been compromised ? As it was, the Biden Administration was not advised, and Hezbollah has promised severe retaliation. Just don't try it over the air.

Like blaming Israel for being attacked and defending itself, so Donald Trump has been shot at-twice. Naturally that would be his fault because of all vitriolic rhetoric. Not his but in the media. Trump is Hitler ! Trump is Mussolini ! Make up a mind ! Trump cannot be allowed back into the White House ! He must be "destroyed !" And so on. If rhetoric is to blame than it was the same speaking that triggered the likes of Crooks or Routh. Is that the idea ?

Removing Trump by one way or another, be it lawfare, attempted bankruptcy, or even assassination, and having talking heads saying that Trump is a very bad person and his elimination by whatever means would be God's work. So, next time someone takes a pot-shot at the former President, hope for another miss. If not. . .
