Back Stabber. . .
(Back Stabber. . .)
Any observer of girls in high school life can relate to that classic BFF, best friends forever, dynamic. Sometimes, these girls can be inseparable. But when one of the pair admits to a crush to her friend, meaning to have it kept secret, but then the friend betrays her by making the clandestine relationship public to the ridicule of her peers.
It is understood that Israel is going to attack Iran at some point. For reasons of security, operational details remain classified. Until they were leaked by the U.S. intelligence community. The lesson here, as it has been since last year, is Israel should never brief the Biden-Harris Administration because, like the former girlfriend, news of Jerusalem's intentions with regards to Iran. Prime Minister Netanyahu had given assurances that the attack would be counterforce (the Iranian military) in nature.
However, in the wake of the plan being compromised, Israel would be justified in adjusting its objectives. Iranian nuclear faculties could be added. One could also conceivably place Iran's petroleum infrastructure on some target list. Regardless, whatever package is assembled at the Israeli Defense Ministry it is not information to share with the Biden Administration.
The leak was no accident. Some level staffer, or staffers, who had information of Israeli intentions and an Administration-wide bias against the Jewish state, exposed that pervades a significant part of the federal government, perhaps especially in the State Department. And it is with the State Department and Secretary Blinken is back in the region to promote another cease fire. As he should know, more than most, whatever Israel has planned for Iran, a little or a lot, it will be done in spite of the Biden Administration.
One way or another, the Biden Administration is coming to an end. Who will be taking over next year remains to be seen. The polls have been remarkably static over these last weeks and Election Day is precisely two weeks away. Momentum might be with Donald Trump and the former President has been playing the role; the "job" at McDonald's, the interviews at the barbershop, the appearance at the Steelers' game and the business round table in Miami this morning.
For her part, Vice President Harris held a town hall with pre-determined questions, held by Maria Shriver and Liz Cheney also in attendance. Harris is seeing a detioration in certain demoraphic groups, especially Hispanics and Black American to a point. Her campaign is on short time, however, and is running out of room to make a decisive move.
If Trump is elected, again, what will that mean for the conflict, not only in regard to Israel and potential action against Iran, but also in the Ukraine. However, Prime Minister Netanyahu knows Donald Trump. The Israeli leader is confident that Trump is not Biden and the disaster he has been. Trump is being seen as restoring stability. Just before he left Office in 2021, the "Abraham Accords" had the Israel-Kingdom of Saudi Arabia the next treaty to be negotiated.
The next two weeks be a frenzied rush to the finish. Both former President Trump and Vice President Harris. One can see who is enthusiastic and one who is possibly dreading Election Night. For one, it will be the longest night of their lives.
