It was the strike that barely was. Amid all the fanfare and hype, the threatened dock-worker stoppage failed to really materialize. The whole affair lasted barely 72 hours and while a 62% raise was agreed and will run to next January, the issue of automation has yet to be resolved.


Former President Trump is making a return trip to Butler, Pennsylvania today to "finish" his speech from last July 13th that got interrupted when Thomas Crooks gave him an "earshot." This time, Elon Musk will be joining Trump on stage along with those lost in the assassination attempt during the rally. Corey Comperatore, 50, was a firefighter and a father of two daughters. He "historically sacrificed his life to shield his wife and daughters" during the assassination attempt against Trump, the campaign said. Trump will also recognize the two other Americans who were wounded by the shooter, David Dutch and James Copenhaver. Unlike the situation from last Summer, Butler this time will wholly locked down and someone will, this time, man the roof of the AGL building.


If there is a crime scene to be "investigated," however, it is the almost willful of Hurricane Helene. It is not simply the lack of Federal Emergency Services, but the neglect as shown by the President and Vice President. The residents in those states generally vote Republican so Biden and Harris could probably care less. But the magnitude of their failure can no longer be concealed.


Now the Harris-Walz Campaign will begin to experience the gradual collapse of their fortunes. People, especially in North Carolina are desperate. Residents still missing, so many areas still so remote with roads and bridges destroyed. There is no food, no water, and no way to provide any of basic supplies. And attempts to remedy the situation are being met with government interference. After being late to the party, all of a sudden, they want to take control. Even Musk is having difficulty distributing his Star Link terminals.


The Biden Administration was an impulse buy. Anything to get rid of Trump. Trump, for his part, will talk again in Butler but Biden and Harris are not speaking to anyone. So, everything that could go wrong for the President and Vice President has gone wrong. And they have nothing to say.
