People are desperate to link Donald Trump to Adolf Hiler. In one, and only one aspect, that might be accurate. Hitler and other high-ranking Nazi officials would convene at Nurenburg each year up until the outbreak of the Second World War. These were generally weeklong affairs where all the top Nazis made speeches, where Party faithful would organize in propagandistic behavior. Naturally, any attendee would want to arrive early and get good viewing positions for the Party elite. Thousands of Germans congregated from across the country to participate in the festivities. Hitler himself probably had a primetime slot at the rally's conclusion.


Tonight, former President Trump will make his appearance at Madison Square Garden sometime this evening. However, like Germans getting early to Nurenburg, New Yorkers are already colleting outside the venue, by the thousands, for a wait that could longer than seven hours or whenever the program begins. Say 5 PM. People will have been stuck on airplanes waiting to take off for less time. Who does Trump think he is ? Adolf Hitler ?


Of course that is a joke. There have been many charismatic figures in history going back to Julius Caesar so Hitler's magnetism was not unique. Trump relies on experience and is extremely confident and without fear, That is why he went to Al Smith. That is why he spent three hours with Joe Rogan. That is why he is selling out the Garden and the audience is already there.


Over the years, there have been concerts or other events where tickets go so fast that one has to get there as early as possible even if they have to camp out for a bit. And the former President is not the only attraction. Elon Musk and Dana White will be there. Robert F. Kennedy Jr as well as Rudi Guiliani will also make remarks. Tucker Carlson and Tulsi Gabbard will round out the event before Donald Trump, like Hitler on the last day at Nurenburg, takes the stage.


One must remember that Adolf Hitler lost everting at the end. His last act as Soviet troops were converging on his sub-terranean bunker was to commit suicide. For Donald Trump, however, tonight's event could be the final resurrection of a campaign that had been on life support for so long.

(Keeping The Faith ?) Happy Memorial Day ! This is the day when the nation pauses and recognizes the contributions of the men and women that strove, and often times perished in the defense of this country. How many campaigns and battles have been seen over the years with Americans in harms way. Theirs was not a pursuit of glory, necessarily but they are remembered as such. Siege Of The Alamo

(Siege Of The Alamo) Any visitor to Downtown San Antonio will recognize the City's most famous landmark, the Alamo. An old Spanish mission that means "Cottonwood" in English was the site where the likes of Jim Bowie, William Barrett Travis and Davy Crockett and about another 185 Texians defended the Mission and its compound for thirteen days against the Army of General Antonio Lopez de Santa Ana and his 5,000 troops. The garrison was finally reduced on March 6, 1836. However, the Texian defeat at the Alamo and another one at Goliad, bought time for General Sam Houston time to fall back and then face Santa Ana at San Jacinto. There, Houston's army surprised the Mexicans and yelling "Remember the Alamo, Remember Goliad !" all but wiped out the Mexican force.
