In Glass Houses,. . .

(In Glass Houses,. . .)

Donald Trump has had many lives. People can scarcely remember that the former President was once a famous real-estate developer and then 14 years as The Apprentice. As one might recall, each season had about a dozen contestants that spent the year on various tasks, of which failure to accomplish would be a curt "you're fired" from the head of the program. At the end of the season, when almost all the players had been eliminated, it would come down to two. The winner there would get "you're hired" and go to some unspecified position within the Trump organization.

The people facing Trump today are members of the Biden Administration and specifically the response to Hurricanes Helene/Milton, or rather the lack thereof. Like President Bush and Hurricane Katrina from 2005, so these two storms and the delayed reaction will bedevil Biden/Harris. However, instead of positioning equipment or fuel, no accommodation, especially in western North Carolina where people were cut off and isolated pockets still remain.

However, answers from the Administration are more in line of complaining. That any counter opinion is being labeled as misinformation. Facts say otherwise, however. Was the Federal Emergency Management Agency ready ?  President Biden was at the beach and Vice President Harris was out west raising money, Helene and then Milton must have seemed inconvenient at the time. People do not know she is running for President so the fewer distractions, the better.

One knows the phrase about the glass houses and stones bit but what has been remarkable here is that the survivors of the two events do not figure into the grand scheme of things. Politics was injected into this tragedy because it necessarily had to be. These are politicians that cannot operate for the common good.

There should be no complaining on the parts of Biden, Harris, and even Mayorkas. One person's misinformation is another's facts. Another's reality. The reality is that people needed help, and those pleas had gone largely un-answered from those who could have done the most.
