There is a saying that Mohammud must go to the Mountain. Otherwise, the Mountain must go Mohammud. Although one can guess that President-Elect Donald Trump would not mind a comparison to the Prophet, nevertheless, Mountains have been going to Mohammud since Trump had been re-elected, namely the Mexican President and the Canadian Prime Minister. Also like the Prophet, Trump will have his own set of challenges to build his own "Faith." That might be excessive but principles are the same.


Once the Prophet received the "Revelation," and began Islam, his followers erupted from Arabia and were a serious threat to the West. Muslim conquests extended all the way to Spain. That Europe was not overrun altogether came down to several battles and the bulwark, at the time, of the Byzantine Empire.


Donald Trump wants to close the border; He wants to deport millions of illegal aliens. Most important of all and how he wants to grow the economy, is the regulatory and tax reform. He wants to cut spending. He wants to re-vitalize the U.S. Armed Services. The Prophet Mohammud only began a Religion. President-Elect Trump is trying to do nothing less than reverse an entrenched system that has been in place for decades.


As there was with Mohammud, opposition against Trump has been constant. It has also largely failed. The President Elect might have survived two assassination attempts but that is not divine providence, only extreme luck. How much luck will the new President need to get his ideas in place ? Trump will needs his own set of adherents, the ones who would spread his "gospel."


January 20th, 2025 and the President-Elect becomes the President. His Cabinet should also be assembled by that time. It promises to be profound in more ways than one. That would depend on what can get approved and ostensibly Trump has a friendly audience. Can Trump inspire like the Prophet ? Probably not. But he has been able to engender a loyalty. That is why he is staffing his Administration with people that are both loyal, and competent. As opposed to the last time.

(Keeping The Faith ?) Happy Memorial Day ! This is the day when the nation pauses and recognizes the contributions of the men and women that strove, and often times perished in the defense of this country. How many campaigns and battles have been seen over the years with Americans in harms way. Theirs was not a pursuit of glory, necessarily but they are remembered as such. As an example, take the Joe Rosenthal photo of the "Iwo Jima Flag-raising," February 23rd, 1945. Most people know what that is and not a few have a copy on their wall. Three of those Marines survived Iwo Jima and went on a bond tour to promote that picture. The U.S. was able to fund the rest of the War off of that drive but the Marines in question did not fare well. Siege Of The Alamo

(Siege Of The Alamo) Any visitor to Downtown San Antonio will recognize the City's most famous landmark, the Alamo. An old Spanish mission that means "Cottonwood" in English was the site where the likes of Jim Bowie, William Barrett Travis and Davy Crockett and about another 185 Texians defended the Mission and its compound for thirteen days against the Army of General Antonio Lopez de Santa Ana and his 5,000 troops. The garrison was finally reduced on March 6, 1836. However, the Texian defeat at the Alamo and another one at Goliad, bought time for General Sam Houston time to fall back and then face Santa Ana at San Jacinto. There, Houston's army surprised the Mexicans and yelling "Remember the Alamo, Remember Goliad !" all but wiped out the Mexican force.
