What The Hell Happened ?
(What The Hell Happened ?)
Where to begin ?
A number of metaphors are being used to describe Donald Trump's return to the White House. Historic. Once in a lifetime. Paradigm shift. The terms are endless. That being said, for one who had been discarded four years ago, that he seemed small at the time, that he was being sent into exile. Exile was not permanent, however. Trump was supposed to go away and when he didn't, when he announced he would stand for election, again, elements rose to oppose him. Beyond Democrats, the media and certain portions of technology, those that first placed President Biden into Office, now their apparent absence has worked to the benefit of President-Elect (again) Trump.
For all those who had been working to prevent this very outcome, the "lawfare" the four federal indictments, guilty verdicts on 34 counts of whatever, the documents case, the Jack Smith investigation and so on. The President-Elect is still set to be sentenced on November 26th. Good luck with that. That being said, however, the Trump/GOP success is the mirror image of Biden-Harris and Democrat losses.
Other observations can be made. The Democrats funding advantage had been kept intact and yet Trump and threatened Republicans like Ted Cruz survived. Also, DEI and all other "woke" standards were similarly rejected. George Soros and his dark money were not effective and his hand-picked choice for LA DA, Gascone was trounced and at the same time, a new anti-crime ordnance was also passed.
One quality of President-Elect Trump that is probably true is that in some fashion, he is a lunatic. No one has ascended to the White House, twice. The one who did not ascend to the White House, at all, followed President Biden on his coattails and then inserted as the Democrat Nominee without a corresponding Primary, Kamala Harris who has yet to formally concede to the President-Elect. The Harris Campaign has gone "radio silent."
One has to remember the mine-field the President-Elect had to negotiate to win last night. he was widely considered to be un-electable, that he had experienced his candidates in Senate races fell to defeat. Extrapolating to a new Presidential run did not seem favorable. He would be losing again in 2024. Combine that sentiment with the idea that he would never beat President Biden. Then when Trump went on ABC and that disastrous debate with Vice President Harris, there had been some indication of Harris' strength. That proved illusory.
One more thing should be mentioned. These Pages never had any faith in a Trump recovery. Suggestions were even floated that Senate Republican Leader (the out-going Senator McConnell) would accept Democrat Biden re-election if that finally rid him of Trump.
So, Lazaras was less a resurrection and Grover, was less a Cleveland.
