Normally it would be appropriate to say Happy New Year. And it is. But 2025 has begun with an atrocity. In the early morning with revelers on New Orleans' Bourbon Street celebrating the New Year, a pick-up truck plowed through the crowd, killing ten and wounding thirty were wounded. This individual had been a U.S. Army Veteran who went very wrong. An ISIS flag was apparently in the truck before its deadly run. The "good news," however, is that President Biden has been briefed.


Biden has been briefed his entire Presidency and here at its Twilight, with the carnage in New Orleans punctuates all too clearly how the last four years have been like the carnage in the Big Easy. How was the President Briefed on Afghanistan ? Did he get any input on his immigration policy ? Who told him that Bidenomics was a bust ? Either he was he not paying attention, or he couldn't.


For how much of the Biden Administration was the President there conatively ? His detioration became clear last summer in the debate with Donald Trump exposed things. Since then it has been a roller-coaster and reversals of fortune. How many times, after Biden's exit and Harris' promotion did pendulum shift ?


That was then and now. Now is the President any more informed ? In his remarks regarding events in New Orleans, the President, again, seemed like he was not as lucid as he might have been. When there came news of a Tesla truck exploding in front of the Trump International Hotel in Vegas, a possible connection to New Orleans but nothing confirmed.


What these events are demonstrating is that there could be a resurgence in terrorist activity at this time. Or it could stem from Biden's open-border policy. How many listed on the terror watch list have already been identified as in country ? Mass-casualty events as was seen in New Orleans whatever had been the point in Las Vegas indicates that these can strike at random but they are perhaps have become more likely,


One cannot say that Biden caused any of these but because he was not in his required role, these occurrences happened more easily.


As long as the President was briefed.

(Keeping The Faith ?) Happy Memorial Day ! This is the day when the nation pauses and recognizes the contributions of the men and women that strove, and often times perished in the defense of this country. How many campaigns and battles have been seen over the years with Americans in harms way. Theirs was not a pursuit of glory, necessarily but they are remembered as such. As an example, take the Joe Rosenthal photo of the "Iwo Jima Flag-raising," February 23rd, 1945. Most people know what that is and not a few have a copy on their wall. Siege Of The Alamo

(Siege Of The Alamo) Any visitor to Downtown San Antonio will recognize the City's most famous landmark, the Alamo. An old Spanish mission that means "Cottonwood" in English was the site where the likes of Jim Bowie, William Barrett Travis and Davy Crockett and about another 185 Texians defended the Mission and its compound for thirteen days against the Army of General Antonio Lopez de Santa Ana and his 5,000 troops. The garrison was finally reduced on March 6, 1836. However, the Texian defeat at the Alamo and another one at Goliad, bought time for General Sam Houston time to fall back and then face Santa Ana at San Jacinto. There, Houston's army surprised the Mexicans and yelling "Remember the Alamo, Remember Goliad !" all but wiped out the Mexican force.
