Handled. . .
(Handled. . .)
A lament to the Kansas City Chiefs. Not only did the team not Three-Peat, but the loss to the Eagles was one of the broadest in Super Bowl history. I other words, the Chiefs were "handled." Going forward, Kansas City will grow through its own stages of grief. President Trump made his own appearance in New Orleans (possibly left at half time).
Trump had to be elsewhere. He just imposed a 25% tariff on aluminum and steel imports and is also contemplating "reciprocal" levies on countries that have their own tariffs on American goods. As mentioned, Canada and Mexico have already been sanctioned with effect and sanctions are anticipated with the Eurozone. In short, the President is looking in the application of tariffs as an equalizing influence. The prime trading relationship of course is China as the largest. China produces a lot of steel and aluminum and hence the ten percent. In the mind of President Trump, the U.S. is being handled by these other countries.
How are Democrats handling Elon Musk ? How is President Trump handling judges who have an idea of disrupting his federal buyout program ? This is tag-team Washington and these two have been making their mark to the chagrin of establishment politicians. All the waste fraud and abuse that are being identified are at the same time being defended by Democrats with great vigor. Is there an argument to be made that would save USAID ? Or Education ? Or the Pentagon and whatever inn-efficiencies could be found ?
At the heart of all this is government spending. Those who want it curbed and those who need the status quo. A Constitutional crisis has been underway as reducing funds already appropriated. And, in a supreme irony, Democrats are threatening their own government shutdown. To what end ? For the defense of what ? Sex changes from Latin America to the Middle East ?
In a sense, Trump and Musk are the Eagles and everybody else are the Chiefs. How the game will be played going forward will be interesting. To say the least. In other words, how will things be handled ?
