It has been easy to see Democrats screaming at the top of their lungs, going hoarse in most cases, as various Democrat politicians protest losses of the various fiefdoms. As a consequence, ICE raids that would have secured dangerous gangs like Tren de Aragua to escape the dragnet. In the efforts to curb the federal workforce, the buyouts with golden parachutes also placed on hold by federal judges. And the universal disdain for DOGE. All this is well known. Which in turns begs the question. What is the basic objection by Democrats ? Are really pro-foreign gangs ? Is every federal employee an essential worker ? Is shrinking the size of government such anathema ?


Democrats have no choice but to defend these policies regardless of how ridiculous and counter-intuitive it might be. In the end, however, they can only complain. They can attempt to frustrate the President, slow walking his Nominees to confirmation as an example. But what might not be clear is how Democrats could be made complicit in the Trump Agenda. House Republicans are struggling to develop Reconciliation terms with the Senate but what if some Democrats also vote to pass the Bill, including Trump tax cuts, past and future. Or the Debt bipartisan Could those Democrats join with the GOP and make things truly bipartisan. Some Democrats are Members in the DOGE Caucus.


Democrats are set to close the government instead. As that maneuver has always worked well for Republicans. For the "Liberal" Party, such accommodation is not possible. There is the risk that the Democrats could face the same consequences as when Republicans pull then same stunt ? Will the same re-criminations as to closing national parks and museums and so on. How will this closure throw Gramma of the cliff ?


Would turn-about be fair play ? That remains to seen but the media is ostensibly still favorable. Unless that would also be a down track. Both the Democrat Party and the national media have lost their audiences. They apparently went to Trump. For his Part, President Trump is moving forward on his tariffs and all the new IRS Agents that the Biden Administration put in place to aggressively audit taxpayers could be re-tasked to the border.


The term is identity crisis.

(Keeping The Faith ?) Happy Memorial Day ! This is the day when the nation pauses and recognizes the contributions of the men and women that strove, and often times perished in the defense of this country. How many campaigns and battles have been seen over the years with Americans in harms way. Theirs was not a pursuit of glory, necessarily but they are remembered as such. As an example, take the Joe Rosenthal photo of the "Iwo Jima Flag-raising," February 23rd, 1945. Most people know what that is and not a few have a copy on their wall. Three of those Marines survived Iwo Jima and went on a bond tour to promote that picture. The U.S. was able to fund the rest of the War off of that drive but the Marines in question did not fare well. Siege Of The Alamo

(Siege Of The Alamo) Any visitor to Downtown San Antonio will recognize the City's most famous landmark, the Alamo. An old Spanish mission that means "Cottonwood" in English was the site where the likes of Jim Bowie, William Barrett Travis and Davy Crockett and about another 185 Texians defended the Mission and its compound for thirteen days against the Army of General Antonio Lopez de Santa Ana and his 5,000 troops. The garrison was finally reduced on March 6, 1836. However, the Texian defeat at the Alamo and another one at Goliad, bought time for General Sam Houston time to fall back and then face Santa Ana at San Jacinto. There, Houston's army surprised the Mexicans and yelling "Remember the Alamo, Remember Goliad !" all but wiped out the Mexican force.
