To begin, President might have cause to dismiss a member of his Cabinet. National Security Adviser, Mike Waltz could have inadvertently copied a memorandum to a journalist at Atlantic magazine, The subject of the material had been targeting lists of Houthi positions in Yemen. As far as anyone knows, operational details were not compromised. That being said, members of the Trump Administration are being handled to the point where access might be accidentally granted. So far, Waltz is not resigning, and President Trump has indicated that Waltz is staying, For now.


In politics, it is best for one Party to allow the other Party to implode as the case seems to be with the Democrats these days. But Republicans are in Office not to mull Democrat destruction but to work on their own agenda. There has been serious discussion that Democrats will be un-able to recover in two years and Republicans could buck tradition and keep their Majority.


In doing so, however, it would be better to pass the Trump Agenda legislatively and not attempt to impeach judges who have been Trump opposing judges. It has been a futile exercise.  It would be a shame if the tax cuts themselves prove to be lessons in futility. Granted, it is not quite April and the timetable for merging both the House and Senate versions is completion of the whole thing by Memorial Day.


Which has always been the question. The legislative portion of Trump's program has always an expiration date. Unless policies can be in place that can introduce some certainty for people, like preventing tax increases by the end of this year. There is still time to stop packing  a court and move on.


Travails of the other Party are pronounced, however. Issues with Democrats have been described and at the moment it is in a state of flux as no leader or ideology has yet to be crystalize. There remain loud voices like Congresswoman Jasmine Crocket from Texas who has indicated she could deal with Elon Musk on her birthday. Tesla cars and dealerships continue to be burned, and Democrats continue to be on the wrong side of criminal aliens, giving the impression that they are the Party such people. They also oppose DOGE reductions.


This could be fun to watch but that does not de-tract from real work. That is being done by the Trump GOP. If this a fight to the finish, look to Tim Allen. Last Man Standing.

Keeping The Faith ?

(Keeping The Faith ?) Happy Memorial Day ! This is the day when the nation pauses and recognizes the contributions of the men and women that strove, and often times perished in the defense of this country. How many campaigns and battles have been seen over the years with Americans in harms way. Theirs was not a pursuit of glory, necessarily but they are remembered as such. As an example, take the Joe Rosenthal photo of the "Iwo Jima Flag-raising," February 23rd, 1945. Most people know what that is and not a few have a copy on their wall. Three of those Marines survived Iwo Jima and went on a bond tour to promote that picture. The U.S. was able to fund the rest of the War off of that drive but the Marines in question did not fare well. Prime Garbage ?

(Prime Garbage ?) In the movie Down & Out in Beverly Hills , starring Nick Nolte and Richard Dreyfus, Nolte plays a Beverly Hills bum who gets taken in by Dreyfus' family. Things did not quite work out Nolte went back to the street but he wanted to take the family dog, Nolte was rummaging through some trash and telling the dog this was "prime garbage." For his part, the dog changed his mind and went back to the Dreyfus family. During the Trump event at Madison Square Garden, an opening act comedian made some remark disparaging Puerto Rico, calling it a "island of garbage." Naturally the media went to work, saying it could depress the Puerto Rican vote, especially in Pennsylvania. Then, the Island "Senator" came out and endorsed Trump.
