The 70's bend, Steely Dan had a hit with the song "FM (no static at all). In deference to these 'Anti-Heroes" of that Decade. However, static is all one is hearing as confluence of events are taking place simultaneously. Israel has renewed its offensive against Hamas after the collapse of the cease-fire, civil war has erupted among Democrats, and sometime today, President Trump will be calling Russian President Putin to discuss a possible cessation of hostilities in Ukraine.


In the pausing of hostilities in Gaza, ostensibly to re-cover remaining hostages. Hamas demurred, however, and Jerusalem was given the green light to continue the anti-terror campaign. Air strikes resumed. IDF ground forces could also be re-introduced. The choice for Hamas had been simple and that was to let the hostages depart. That apparently was a bridge too far and the group is out of options. As are the Houthis. That campaign is also not under abatement and dozens of the group leadership has been killed. Actual munition infrastructure is also being targeted.


With what options have Democrats been left? Like when a deep-cover secret agent or spy gets caught or is otherwise compromised. Oleg Gordievsky was a KGB agent that spied for Great Britain and fled there when he was about to be discovered. The effects on Soviet intelligence were devastating. So was the defection of Senator Schumer. If he has lost the confidence of his Caucus and is Primaried by Congresswoman Corte for example. The inly unifying factor would be President Trump. Like in the deep halls of the Lubyanka, KGB headquarters where a mole hunt took years. and the soul searching that is now necessary within Democrats circles. While this period of self-reflection endures, Republicans if they can stay unified and work to pass their own, and President Trump's agenda.


Part of that agenda is what the President told his Russian counterpart in the call they shared this morning. Details are so far classified and how long the call lasted and what was the end result remains to be seen. Was any progress made in ending the fighting ? Donald Trump has been known to make deals and if there is one to be had, the President could be one to offer a solution.


 Until these issues get resolved, discordance will prevail. And as to the status of the Statue of Liberty ? Possession is nine-tenths,

(Keeping The Faith ?) Happy Memorial Day ! This is the day when the nation pauses and recognizes the contributions of the men and women that strove, and often times perished in the defense of this country. How many campaigns and battles have been seen over the years with Americans in harms way. Theirs was not a pursuit of glory, necessarily but they are remembered as such. As an example, take the Joe Rosenthal photo of the "Iwo Jima Flag-raising," February 23rd, 1945. Most people know what that is and not a few have a copy on their wall. Three of those Marines survived Iwo Jima and went on a bond tour to promote that picture. The U.S. was able to fund the rest of the War off of that drive but the Marines in question did not fare well. Prime Garbage ?

(Prime Garbage ?) In the movie Down & Out in Beverly Hills , starring Nick Nolte and Richard Dreyfus, Nolte plays a Beverly Hills bum who gets taken in by Dreyfus' family. Things did not quite work out Nolte went back to the street but he wanted to take the family dog, Nolte was rummaging through some trash and telling the dog this was "prime garbage." For his part, the dog changed his mind and went back to the Dreyfus family. During the Trump event at Madison Square Garden, an opening act comedian made some remark disparaging Puerto Rico, calling it a "island of garbage." Naturally the media went to work, saying it could depress the Puerto Rican vote, especially in Pennsylvania. Then, the Island "Senator" came out and endorsed Trump.
