It is a growing casualty list. In Iraq, a remaining leader of the Islamic State, Abu Khadija, was eliminated by Iraqi assets with American assistance. Houthi rebels that have been harassing shipping in the Red Sea were also taken under fire. Finally, the fracturing of the Democrat Party continues. Whenever artillery fire is requested and the targets get clustered together, a "fire for effect" order could be received. This is what President Trump has had. Hargets un the open and he has been firing for effect.


The Islamic State arose during the Obama Administration and captured significant territory, a Caliphate in other words, in Iraq and Syria. This had been the so-called "JV team" by Obama. When he came into Office. Trump made short work of the Caliphate till now Abu Khadija was found in Iraq and he was also killed. President Trump can add another notch on his gun.


Houthi rebels have been camping on the coast of the Red Sea, bringing commerce under fire. President Biden had deployed the USS Eisenhower along with its battlegroup to the area but steadfastly refused to make use of its capabilities. That is not the case for President Trump. Beginning over the weekend, in combinations of air power. manned and autonomous, have been directed Houthi positions in Yemen, where the Gulf of Aden works as a choke point and all shipping is vulnerable. Opening Aden would be an objective for the current effort and Secretary of Defense Hegseth has said the attacks will continue until these rebels renounce the actions. The strikes are also a not subtle message to Iran. Hamas is about to be eliminated. Hezbollah in Lebanon is in a weakened state. Now the Houthis ? The life expectancy of these Tehran proxies is becoming short.


As President Trump and Elon Musk continue to work their will, Democrats are no position to object. Trump is dis-mantling Voice of America that has become an organ for leftist propaganda. Among other targets for DOGE, buildings are being re-considered. Democrats have never been more impotent and in a recurring theme seem un-able to congeal around a new message or a new leader.


President Trump has time. At least for the next three and a half years. At the end of that interval, what will be the terminal state of ISIS ? Will Houthi's still be active on the Red Sea ? How will Iran be ? And would Democrats have new leaders and new ideas ?


Time will tell.

(Keeping The Faith ?) Happy Memorial Day ! This is the day when the nation pauses and recognizes the contributions of the men and women that strove, and often times perished in the defense of this country. How many campaigns and battles have been seen over the years with Americans in harms way. Theirs was not a pursuit of glory, necessarily but they are remembered as such. As an example, take the Joe Rosenthal photo of the "Iwo Jima Flag-raising," February 23rd, 1945. Most people know what that is and not a few have a copy on their wall. Three of those Marines survived Iwo Jima and went on a bond tour to promote that picture. The U.S. was able to fund the rest of the War off of that drive but the Marines in question did not fare well. Prime Garbage ?

(Prime Garbage ?) In the movie Down & Out in Beverly Hills , starring Nick Nolte and Richard Dreyfus, Nolte plays a Beverly Hills bum who gets taken in by Dreyfus' family. Things did not quite work out Nolte went back to the street but he wanted to take the family dog, Nolte was rummaging through some trash and telling the dog this was "prime garbage." For his part, the dog changed his mind and went back to the Dreyfus family. During the Trump event at Madison Square Garden, an opening act comedian made some remark disparaging Puerto Rico, calling it a "island of garbage." Naturally the media went to work, saying it could depress the Puerto Rican vote, especially in Pennsylvania. Then, the Island "Senator" came out and endorsed Trump.
